October has come to a close with lots of things going on.

We finish the month out with the end of soccer, pumpkin carving, Halloween and then the start of elk hunting in Colorado.

Kaila played her last game on the 26th, first against her other team mates and then against the parents. After the game we had a little pizza party. It was a great time.

We were all busy getting Charlie and Nick ready to leave for Colorado to elk hunt. They left on the 30th of October. After they left, the kids and I decided to carve pumpkins.

Next we have the wonderful day of Halloween, which turned out to be slightly chilly and rainy. That made it difficult to get decent photos. This is also the first year that I didn't take the kids trick or treating myself. They both decided they wanted to go with friends. I feel a sense of loss, but hey...it is what it is. At least they're still dressing up at the ripe old ages of 10 and 11 1/2.

Blake was a hobo and Kaila was a spider fairy.

At about 7:30 (Colorado time) on November 2, 2013 Nick shot his first bull elk. We are so very happy. They're actually coming home early due to Nick's altitude sickness, as well as some bad weather heading in.

I participated and continue to participate in a Pinsperational Crop at My Scraps & More. I have done three challenges so far.

I used a sketch from Scrap Around the World for this one.

I used a sketch by Audrey Yeager for this one.

We had a fairly busy weekend...soccer, scrapping, church and a corn maze!

This was Kaila's last OFFICIAL game. We still have a scrimmage on Saturday. She finally got to play offense and was pretty aggressive.

A couple cards I made from scraps.

Halloween is fast approaching with Thanksgiving right on its heels! There is always so much to do around this time of year that it's hard to enjoy the beautiful weather and colors.

October is my favorite month of the year. I'm not sure why exactly...it just is.

We start with Kaila's birthday. I didn't get any actual photos on her 10th birthday. I know...I am a terrible mother...JUST terrible! I took her and two of her friends to Olympic Fun Center for 5 hours to make up for her not-so-great birthday. She only wanted $$$ so she could add it to her other $$$ to purchase a computer/tablet...whatever. So, there was no opening of presents :( Anyway, they had a blast and were very tired after this day.

Surpirse!!! More about Kaila, because she seems to have the most going on right now. She is almost done playing her first season of soccer. I enjoyed it immensely and she liked it. I just don't know if she'll do it again.

Here's a layout I did of Blake blowing bubbles back in 2009 using a Scrapbook Challenges sketch. I'll have you know that that hand-stitching took 45 minutes.

Here's a layout I did of Kaila when she couldn't even walk yet. I thought it was a Scrapfriends sketch, but I can't find it. I'll see if I can add it later.

Oh, look here! Here's another layout of Kaila using a sketch from Nuts About Sketches.

I would love to share the following link with you for a crop at My Scraps & More. I plan on participating and hope you'll join in as well.

Our family took a trip to Benezette, PA to observe the elk. We were able to hear a little bugling in the early morning, but only saw a couple elk. We did hike for two hours as well.

Here are a couple layouts I did recently.
